Update on the North Caucasus: Feb/Mar 2001.

As spring approaches in the region, some 150 000 IDPs from Chechnya have experienced a second winter in the neighboring republic Ingushetia. The majority of the displaced have found shelter with the local population in Ingushetia; however, many continue to live in tented camps and spontaneous settlements in schools, farms, and public buildings all over the republic.
